Kev Munday
Kev Munday creates positive and colorful artwork inspired by watching people and every-day life. His often simplistic and naïve style takes inspiration from artforms as diverse as kawaii graphics and Huichol yarn paintings.
The artworks appeal to all ages and make the viewer think and smile at the same time. He does this by exaggerating and celebrating the ordinary. He works with a wide range of materials. Artworks are drawn using Posca pens, spray paint, and acrylic paint. Kev’s art is collected all over the world, and he has created artwork for brands including Walt Disney (a hand-painted figure for an exhibition), Graham & Brown (a wallpaper), Fracture Skateboards (a series of decks) and Monster Energy (a large scale mural). His art has featured on the BBC and Channel 4 and in Elle Decor, Juxtapoz, The Evening Standard and Design Milk.
In 2016 Kev Munday has been named by The Telegraph as one of five ‘British Artists To Invest In’. With upcoming exhibitions across Europe in 2017, Kev is looking forward to many more years of watching paint dry. Kev and Hubert Kalkman organized a solo show which took place in October 2017. Together with sales in the gallery, 20 originals were auctioned through Catawiki. As a result collectors all over the world were engaged in the exhibition. The show was a huge success, selling out completely.
