Information about the artwork:

‘Merrily We Go To Hell ‘ is a 1932 Pre-Code film starring Frederick March and Sylvia Sidney. This still is taken from the moment the leading actress realises that desperate efforts to help  her alcoholic fiancé are futile. The ‘Pre-Code Series’ of drawings pay tribute to Hollywood films made between the years 1930-34, a period when censorship was lax. The subject of these films was often women caught in morally questionable situations. Directors were attracting large audiences even during America’s Great Depression, with depictions of alcoholism, infidelity, sexual violence and more.

Due to popular demand these prints have been re-issued in a large format to replicate the empowering size of the original works, all of which are now in private collections.

This giclée print is on heavy, fine art Hahnemühle photo-rag paper. The smooth yet slightly textured surface of this paper allows for the highest quality reproduction of the original artwork. The inks used are archival and will not fade.

Shipping Worldwide: Please allow for 7 to 14 workdays before dispatching. The print will be shipped directly from the studio of Nina Mae Fowler for UK collectors. Any surplus of the shipping costs will be reimbursed to you.

For collectors outside of the UK: The artwork will be shipped with an Express door-to-door service.
