This series of Tracings represent the remnants of preparatory work which takes place in the planning of a developed drawing. In transferring the lead from the tracing paper to the drawing surface the the artist unconsciously erases eyes, lips and other defining areas, heightening the sense of mystery and chance in the portraits. Although the value and purpose of a tracing is usually throw-away, here it is given strength in it’s enlarged size and elegance. These works only exist as prints.
This giclée print is on heavy, fine art Hahnemühle photo-rag paper. The smooth yet slightly textured surface of this paper allows for the highest quality reproduction of the original artwork. The inks used are archival and will not fade.
