Noa Verborgh, b. 1997 – Antwerp, Belgium. Studied fine arts at LUCA school of arts, Ghent – Belgium.
The studio is an outlet for the small dilemmas that fill our lives. She translates these onto canvas by use of “popular” symbolism. The over-relativity that arises here makes room for entertainment and fun, as is sometimes underlined: laughing is healthy. “So, exactly what the doctor ordered”, Noa says.
As a child of the internet, Noa is inspired by social media. From memes to celebs, the worldwide web is an inexhaustible source of enthusiasm.
The fascination for the power that the written word exerts on images turns the studio into a playing field filled with acrylic, canvas and wood.
